Season 18 Bye week
Tuesday January 19th, 2010
10PM eastern, 9PM Central, 8PM Mountain, 7PM Pacific
This event is open to everyone, no pre-registration required. Tonight's event does not count towards the Leagues Season points. It will be scored via recorded times in the logs, winners and runner-ups for each event, as well as overall placing.
We have 3 seperate events that will run simultaneously. You will get 2 scored attempts for each event with your best attempt being used for placing. You may do the events in any order. Is timed by the logs, so you will receive your start from the tower, with your tower out being your finish time. All of the events are designed to run as individuals, however for the sake of competition, the SKI JUMP and TRIATHALON may be run in pairs.
Each event is at a different field and will be on its own VOX Channel with its Own CM. Channel 200 will be monitored by HB555 who will help direct you to the appropriate fields and VOX channels.

Ski Jump:
Participants will go to A92 and choose the ME 163 with 1/4 tank of fuel. When the hosting CM clears you for your jump, you will spawn on the NW Runway and immediately take off on a heading to land at A133. The goal here is to go as fast as you can and gain as much altitude as possible so that you can coast deadstick to A133 and land succesfully and tower out for your time. You must get succesful landing for your jump to count. You may use any RW or pavement on 133 to accomplish that. NOTE: Since ammo is enabled, you may want to dump your guns. Logs will reord time and fuel load.
MAP:
Cross Country Archery:
You will report to A131, choose the F6F, choice of fuel, and rockets. When cleared by the hosting CM you will launch on the SW RW and immediately take off. Head for the City to the west. Starting at the City, destroy the WATER Tower with rockets or guns. All Towers are soft so it doesn't take much. Continue on to each of the strats hdg south. at each of these strats you will again destroy the WATER TOWER. This is the only valid target at each strat. Of course their will collateral damage, but I only count the tower. At 2 of the strats their are more than 1 water tower, you only need to destroy 1 as I will only count 1. After hitting each strat, make a left turn at the HQ and land successfully back at 131 and tower out to record your time.
Scoring bonus's: -2 seconds for each strat destroy by guns. -4 secs for each strat destroyed by rockets.

Triathalon:
NOTE: this event may be done in pairs or more.
Report to P4 and select the PT boat. When given the go command is given spawn in the hangar and immediately begin your run.
Upon leaving the dock, make a hard right turn and head to the DD furthest to the right
make a left urn around it and head to the CG
make a right 180 turn around the CG and head to the S most DD
make a Left 180 around that DD and head to the one nearset the shore.
keep that DD to your left again and turn left and head for the DD nearest the Docks
make a left 180 turn around that DD and go to the CV
head for the superstructure and tower out. If you tower successfully, it will put you on the CV.
Once on the CV, up a Seafire and immediately take off
once off the deck turn left and head for the 3 batteries.
make a left around the S one
Right around the middle one
and a left around the N one
head for A5
at A5 make right turn and fly through the Small Pag BH West to East
then make a left turn around the Water tower
then fly through the Right hand Big Pad BH as you approach it.
Make a right turn and land succesfully on any runway.
This will put you in A5 Tower
Up a Jeep from th Hangar spawn
start your run immediately
veer to the right and head to A5 Town
At the town make a right turn at the Water Tower
then a right turn past the LG Oil tank
Head for the closest SB N of the town
Climb the hill up to the battery itself and tower out when you touch your jeep to the battery bldg.
This is the Finish
NOTES:
You may take supplies
If you do not get a successful tower out at either the CV or A5, you may manually move to the next leg, but you will recieve a 5 second penalty. At A5 you must attempt a landing and it will be at the CM's sole discretion if the attempt to land was made.
Standard 360 rule applies for missed markers/hangars
CM will help guide you in the right direction if you appear lost

Season 18 Race 6 - the "Napolitano Swirley"
Event will run on Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at 10:00 pm Eastern
Event Host: RDRTrash

Track Design: RDRTrash
Terrain: Italy_1
Country: Knight
Field: A28
Aircraft: B25H (the one with the Cannon!!!) by BMathis
FuelBurn: 0.1 (Negligible)
Loadout: Pilot Choice - KillShooter ON - You will have guns!
Takeoff: SW - GullGutz Start (Engines Off until "GO")
Laps: 4
Heats: 3
*NOTE: Due to this aircrafts rather wide wingspan and difficult roll rate, the event CM will be somewhat 'forgiving' of turn marker altitudes. The CM will judge if the pilot is "banking energy" around turn markers and will call for a penalty 360 for violations. Turns around turn markers are intended to be as low to the ground without crashing as possible. The spirit of the rule is the rule.
1. On Takeoff fly West to the City. You must destroy at least one of the buildings to qualify as a "start". You will know if you've destroyed a building if you get a 'destroyed' message in your text buffer. You only need to destroy one and then you can go to step 2.
2. Head back to A28 and fly West to East through the Small Pad Bomber Hangar. This hangar is the Start/Finish Line. The first time through is the beginning of lap 1.
3. Left turn around the A28 Field Water Tower.
4. Through A28 most Northerly Large Pad BH from SE to NW.
5. By any line of flight to pass through the "Gate" formed by the A28 Town Water Tower and most Westerly Radar Tower.
6. Left turn around the A28 Town Water Tower.
7. Pass through the "Gate" formed by the A28 Town Water Tower and most Northerly Radar Tower.
8. By any line of flight to pass through the A28 Small Pad Bomber Hangar from West to East again. This ends each lap, and ends the race when final lap is completed.
9. Repeat steps 2 through 8 until all laps are complete.
Three (3) heats, so if you crash in one of the heats, your performance in the other heats still counts.
Good Luck Racers!
